The Permanent Community Impact Fund Board provides funding to counties, cities and towns that are impacted by mineral resource development on federal lands. Because local communities cannot collect taxes from federal lands, their ability to provide necessities like roads, municipal buildings, water and sewer service is diminished. To reduce that burden, a portion of the federal lease fees are returned to the Community Impact Board (CIB) to distribute to the impacted communities. Daggett County falls under the CIB umbrella. An application was submitted to the CIB Board last fall. On June 6, 2024 we were awarded 7.3 million dollars to construct a much needed new clinic that will add services that have not been available in our County before. A reservable conference room has been included within the building designs to allow for Economic Development strategies. The room will accommodate 90 plus individuals for conferences, conventions, training programs etc.. A huge thank you goes out to the Daggett County Commissioners with an emphasis on Commissioner Asay, Jesse Platt, Jones and DeMille Engineering and countless others. Their hard work has made this a reality for our county!
